Como o ácido pantotênico é encontrado em uma ampla variedade de alimentos, uma deficiência é rara, exceto:
- em pessoas que têm outras deficiências de nutrientes, como observado na desnutrição grave;
- casos raros em pessoas com mutações genéticas nas quais o ácido pantotênico não pode ser metabolizado;
- em pessoas que têm problemas/doenças intestinais que prejudicam a absorção de alimentos.

- Fadiga
- Irritabilidade, inquietação
- Sono perturbado
- Náusea, vômito, cólicas estomacais
- Dormência ou sensação de queimação nas mãos ou pés
- Cãibras musculares

Because pantothenic acid is found in a wide variety of foods, a deficiency is rare except:
- in people who have other nutrient deficiencies, as seen in severe malnutrition;
- rare cases in people with genetic mutations in which pantothenic acid cannot be metabolized;
- in people who have intestinal problems/diseases that impair food absorption.
Some signs and symptoms appear when the person has disabilities that can include:
- Headache
- Fatigue
- Irritability, restlessness
- Disturbed sleep
- Nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps
- Numbness or burning sensation in hands or feet
- Muscle cramps
- Gastrointestinal Disorders
Pay attention if any of these signs and symptoms appear, it shows that your body is signaling something that is not going very well. Look for a qualified health professional who is able to assess your health status (doctor) and your nutritional status (nutritionist).
